Welcome to web dev ireland.
My name is Edward Kenny and I am a Software Engineering Graduate based in Dublin, Ireland. My course in college had very little to do with web development or design, but it was always something I have been interested in. During my college years I had little time to spend on studies in this area, so now after work I try to catch up on what I missed out on.
This site is pretty much a hobby site for me at the minute and has been set up for purely selfish reasons. The site will be a testing ground for new methods and technologies (at least new to me) of web development and web design that I want to mess with. For the moment I will be focusing on XHTML, XML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and CSS.
The theme of the site will be web development and web design techniques that may or may not help you. I also want to put an Irish market spin on the webpage, with information relevent to the Irish developers and designers.
Emphasis on web standards and good practices are something I strive towards at all times coming from a software engineering background. Criticism, advice or corrections to anything that is on this site are welcome at all times.
If anyone would like to write tutorials or articles (particularly from an Irish angle) that would be of value to anyone in the web development community please contact me.
